On 28 November 2022, the Regional Development Agency Bačka implemented its fourth (and the last) online workshop within the project New Approaches to Seismic Improvement and Reconstruction of Adriatic and Ionian Historic Urban Centers - ADRISEISMIC, which is implemented in cooperation with seven other partner institutions from the Adrion area (Adriatic -
Ionian). As before, the workshop was led by the expert team of consultants from the field of earthquake engineering, and the topics covered were the presentation and validation of action plans, guidelines ("Roadmaps") for possible improvements to technical regulations regarding seismic strengthening, and training programs developed during the implementation of the
ADRISEISMIC project.

At the very beginning, Olga Đurić-Perić, team leader and director of ASMEC Consultants from Belgrade, informed the workshop participants including professional public in the Republic of Serbia, representatives of regional development agencies and local self-governments about the status of the ADRISEISMIC project. After that, Dr. Svetlana Brzev, president of the Serbian Association for Earthquake Engineering (SUZI/SAEE) and professor at the University of British Columbia (Canada) and Dr. Marko Marinković, assistant professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, presented the application of the ADRISEISMIC methodology for rapid assessment of seismic risk for historical buildings and the proposed action plan regarding the protection of cultural monuments in Bačka region.

Guidelines ("Roadmap") for possible improvements to technical regulations regarding seismic strengthening in the Republic of Serbia was presented by Dr. Borko Bulajić, Professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. Finally, Dr. Marko Marinković presented the ADRISEISMIC training packages for public servants and volunteers.

ADRISEISMIC project is supported within the Interreg V-B Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 – ADRION. The overall project objective is to exchange and systematize knowledge and practices in tackling the reduction of the seismic vulnerability of the built environment in Project Partner countries, to harmonize planning and management of emergencies after seismic events and the post-earthquake phase, in order to drastically improve the approaches for dealing with and to secure the reduction of seismic vulnerability among ADRION regions. The main focus areas are the historical urban centres and historical squares and their surrounding buildings, conceived as symbol of local identity and socio- economic cores for the ADRION settlements. The total value of the project is 1.126.640,00 Euros (ERDF and IPA II contribution amounts to 957.644,00 Euros or 85%). Period of implementation: 1 March 2020 – 28 February 2023.
