ADRISEISMIC LOCAL FINAL CONFERENCE HELD IN NOVI SAD

After the official Final conference of the project "New approaches for seismic improvement and renovation of Adriatic and Ionian historic urban centres - ADRISEISMIC" which was organised for all project partners and the professional public from Italy on 17 January 2023 in Bologna, the Regional Development Agency Bačka organised a local final event "What we have achieved and learned!", where the results of the project were summarized, as well as the acquired knowledge and examples of good practices.

The final local dissemination event within the ADRISEISMIC project, which brought together all project participants from Serbia as well as representatives of the professional public, was held on 22 February 2023, in the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad.

In the opening part, the representative of the Ministry for Public Investment of the Republic of Serbia Sandra Nedeljković addressed the audience and emphasised the importance and relevance of the topic that the ADRISEISMIC project has dealt with and encouraged future initiatives to continue the implementation of projects tackling such challenges.

Expert consultants, who were engaged in the project under the leadership of ASMEC Consultants from Belgrade, summarised the most significant results and lessons learned during the implementation of the project:
Director of ASMEC Consultants MSc Olga Đurić-Perić briefly presented the ADRISEISMIC project, while expert in earthquake engineering expert and associate professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad Dr. Borko Bulajić presented the “Roadmap for possible improvements to technical regulations regarding seismic strengthening in the Republic of Serbia”.

The President of the Serbian Association for Earthquake Engineering (SUZI/SAEE) Dr. Svetlana Brzev presented the topic "Protection of cultural monuments from the effects of earthquakes: seismic risk assessment and proposed action plan for Bačka" as well as "ADRISEISMIC training packages and courses".

ADRISEISMIC project is supported within the Interreg V-B Adriatic-Ionian Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 – ADRION. The overall project objective is to exchange and systematize knowledge and practices in tackling the reduction of the seismic vulnerability of the built environment in Project Partner countries, to harmonize planning and management of emergencies after seismic events and the post-earthquake phase, in order to drastically improve the approaches for dealing with and to secure the reduction of seismic vulnerability among ADRION regions. The main focus areas are the historical urban centres and historical squares and their surrounding buildings, conceived as symbol of local identity and socio-economic cores for the ADRION settlements.

The total value of the project is 1.126.640,00 Euros (ERDF and IPA II contribution amounts to 957.644,00 Euros or 85%).

Period of implementation: 1 March 2020 – 28 February 2023.
